Avery Lane Period 4
My name is Avery Lane and I attend Mount Si High School as a 9th grade student. I play soccer for the high school. On top of that I play soccer for the Issaquah Gunners Soccer Club and I love it so much. As of now I have decided that when I get done with high school I want to attend a four year college. My thoughts on my future have swayed greatly over the years but of course that happens with most people. I want to work with animals, possibly a veterinarian or run a wildlife sanctuary. As a kid I used to always love to watch Animal Planet and they had the Animal Cop show, ASPCA, and that really sparked my interest in animals. The officers got to rescue animals that were being abused. They showed me how greatly I desired to protect the innocent animals from the danger of humans.
Currently I am in the National Honors Society which means that I have had to maintain a 3.5 or higher as well I am required to complete community service hours. This last semester I had a 3.8 and am still working hard to try and improve that grade point average. I have to put in a lot of effort to be able to get my grades where they are today and I hope that the effort that I put in is noticeable. I am not one of those kids where school just makes sense and comes easily to them; I have to think about what I am learning and be able to practice it. My idea for a profession has swayed over the years but in the end I decided that because of my passion for animals I have decided that learning how to properly care for them is mostly likely what I would like to study.
