Help each other
I believe that it's okay for people to ask for help from others however I also think that they should also trying to fight for themselves as well. I see all of the homeless people with the signs say out of work anything helps. The community is looking for jobs and it might not be the one that they have in mind but there are small pick ups here and there. Homeless shelters are great because they provide a place for those people to go and stay warm for the night. There also has to be a way for those people to get into the situation that they are in and I know from experience that it is very easy to fall back into those unnecessary habits. If people truly want to change from that state of poverty they have got to really try and other people need to be gracious to them and understand that we all need help sometimes in our life.
Change Society
I think that in modern day society people are putting to much pressure on themselves and working to hard. It seems like the only goal is to be successful and make more money. People need to take a step back and look at the world and enjoy it because we are only on the earth for a short time. I have also noticed that judgement occurs if somebody doesn't dress the same as the rest of the crowd. Its okay to be different and people need to accept who they are. Everyday it feels like a competition to be the best and look the best but it doesn't have to be. As for myself, I am different from the crowd but every once in a while I get drawn into the similarity of the crowd.
Education
We have been talking in language arts a lot about education and what it is used for. I decided that I am going to share my thoughts on the subject. I believe that all people need some sort of education that gears them up for the future. However I don't think that our current school system provides the correct education for what we need to know about the real world. Take geometry for instance, when am I ever going to actually need to find the missing length of the side of a triangle? Unless we are going to spend the rest of our lives on the subjects we are being taught now, why should we spend the time learning them?
I agree with the idea of a 5 day school week and going to school we should just have more opportunities that can make us grow as human beings not just grow our brain intelligence. If schools taught us more about sustaining ourselves in the future we would be a lot more prepared for what is to come. W could be taught how to buy cars or houses. We could learn how to pay taxes or how to survive the wilderness. Don't get me wrong we still need to know that basics reading, writing, math, science, ect; we just also need to learn more than just that,if we want to be ready to leave home. Another option for improving our system is start to offer more classes that kids can take throughout their whole lives that prepare them for what they want to do when the graduate. I know that a lot of kids are unsure of that decision but if they learned this way then they could try things out earlier instead of having to do that in college.
Another reason why I think we should change our school system is that it hasn't changed much since when it was first formed a long time ago. The world around us is improving and advancing but educations are not. We have grown into a way more technological world and students need to start to learn how to interact with technology so that they won't be lost in the real world. More technological schooling such as classes on how to do certain programs on computers will allow students to be able to solve technology problems. I know that technology in schools is such a controversial topic I just wanted to share a way to incorporate some ways to teach solutions to real life problems that arise.
